ICE CREAM or FROZEN DESSERT

One of the most common food in our life is Ice Cream.

Maybe it was a luxury a decade ago but not any more. Ranging from 5 to 500 Rupees there is a lot of variety of ice cream now a days. From price to flavours there are a lot of options in the market.

Ice cream is readily available in any season and at lower prices than other foods, unlike other food options. The special taste also offers exactly what our palate buds need.

The word itself make our eyes searching for an outlet or shop to fulfill our desires.

A treat for people of all ages, this wonderful cold, creamy and colorful food. Every one has a favourite of their own: from cones to cups and everything else. Nobody can control their cravings and nobody should.

Why People Love Ice Cream So Much?

Okay, the explanation could be whatever. From smooth texture to colourful and tasty flavours. Don't you like strawberries? Allow no worries.Do you have an problem with Vanilla? Don't put up with stress. Thay have you covered. Ice cream has something for everyone from a range of diverse and inventive flavours, which never seems to be disappointed. Its availability throughout the year also constitutes its USP.

Whatever the occasion, Ice Cream never disappoints. Ice cream is something that can be consumed by anyone without pressuring our pockets, from having some 'chilled' moments with your friends and family to offering treats to your employers and colleagues. Got an increment or passed an exam? An Ice Cream treat suits any occasion. Whatever the occasion is, Ice Cream will cheer up everybody!

The Growing Market :-

With growing rivalry, with its brands and products, more and more creative companies are coming to the front. Since the last few years , the market has been continuously developing and moving forward, and there is strong rivalry between companies to give the customer higher quality goods according to their ever-changing tastes and preferences.

The Real Question

But with all these growth, different flavours, and different brands, A question arises, Are we really having Ice Cream?

In today's time most of the brands are serving Frozen Desserts in the name of ice cream.

Maybe what you are eating and enjoying in the name of ice cream is actually Frozen Dessert.

According to topranked.in, the most loved Ice Cream brands in India are:-

1. Amul

2. Baskin Robbins

3. Kwality Walls 

4. Mother Dairy

5. Cream Bell

6. Vadilal

7. Naturals

8. Haagen-Dazs

9. Dinshaw's

10. Havmor 

I am sure everyone had a lot of Amul, Kwality Walls, Vadilal's, Cream Bell in their childhood.

These brands promote their products as rich milk products, but they don't really make ice cream.

I personally never had Haagen-Dazs and Dinshaw's but still had a research on them for this blog.

Out of these 10 most like brands only 4 of them make real Ice Cream.

The other 6 make frozen desserts in the name of Ice Cream. And they are:-

1. Amul

2. Kwality Walls

3. Mother Dairy

4. Cream Bell

5. Vadilal's

6. Dinshaw's

All of these are the most popular Ice Cream brands in the Indian market are producing Frozen Desserts in the name of Ice Creams.

Yes its TRUE!!

Frozen desserts are basically made from vegetable oil than real milk. Or what do you call Dalda or Vanaspati Ghee.

Most of people prefer not to use Dalda or Vanaspati in our homes as it is considered an unhealthy option. 

Its actually not an unhealthy option.

But, we are consuming it in our so called Ice-Creams. Which we thought we are having real milk. And i am writing today on the name FROZEN DESSERTS being written on products what we are told are real milk products.

After some interventions, these brands have stopped using from the word ICE CREAM on their products but we never have given such thought. We just buy it, open it and enjoy it.

We just ignored the line LOW FAT FROZEN DESSERT or MEDIUM FAT FROZEN DESSERT.

The above picture is of CREAM BELL'S FRENCH VANILLA. Which is one of my personal favourite.

Vegetable oil is not considered as an unhealthy option but we are having it unknowingly in our milk products. And i personally never thought that the most popular brands of India would be selling Frozen Desserts in the image of Ice Cream.

I always thought that Amul (which was earlier my favourite brand) does make Ice Creams with real milk.

There are few brands which use pure milk to make their products but they are less popular than the above. Let me share them with you:-

1. Baskin Robbins

2. Naturals

3. Haagen-Dazs

4. Havmor

These brands are comparitvely high priced than the others but you get the taste and creaminess of real milk. It would be more fatty and would be having more calories but the taste of real milk is worth it.

Here in the above picture you can clearly see ICE CREAM written on the front itself. Its a product from Havmor.

All i wanted was to create awareness and differentiation between Ice Creams and Real Desserts.
